10 Quality Restaurants in San Pablo City, Laguna

San Pablo City is known for the abundance of coconut supplies and for the seven lakes that surround the city. It is said that San Pablo City is the crater of a volcano and which, that causes the water to be separated by extra land - forming the seven lakes. Every year, they celebrate the Coconut Festival around the second week of January like it's the end of the world! San Pablo is such a small city, but there are actually thousands of corners to visit, especially the quality restaurants that can only be seen within the city.

1. Si Christina Gateau Sans Rival

This is personally my all-time favorite restaurant in all the classic restaurants existing within San Pablo City, Laguna. The place is also well-known for the quality of its specialty called Sans Rival Cake. The environment also gives the customers enough reason to dine-in rather than to take their dishes home. It also has a wide range of menu coming from Filipino to American to European dishes. The coffee blends are great and you can really see the passion of their chef from the quality of food that they serve. But there is only one problem when it comes to this restaurant - the waiters and waitresses. They all do provide good service and communication, although the restaurant have too much of them who roam around the place a lot in such a small place. I recommend you try their Blackberry Mocha and Mediterranean Pasta. Si Christina is a good choice for breakfasts and dinners especially for the family dates, romantic dates, and business meetings. Still, Si Christina is a 4.8/5.0 for me! This restaurant would make Gordon Ramsay smile.

2. Planes and Brews Cafe

Among all the restaurants in the city, Planes and Brews has one of the most unique themes of all - airlines. It is a new and starting restaurant. The owner is said to be working in the airlines and inspired him for the theme of this restaurant. They have good food and frappe quality. The menu serves general types of cuisines. The environment is good for the mornings especially matching your breakfast with a cup of hot coffee. My recommendation is the Chinese Hamsilog because the recipe of ham was originally made by the mother of the owner - being an original where Planes and Brews can only be the place to find it. They also have board games that customers can borrow and would help the boredom of those who wait for their food. Planes and Brews is a very cute choice for the family and the romance. I would rate this cafe a 4.0/5.0.

3. Mi Cafe Padres

Mi Cafe Padres (My Father's Coffee) has a story behind its name. The coffee bean that they brew comes from their own coffee plantation within San Pablo City. The bean originally came from Batangas and his father was the very first person who made it grow within San Pablo City despite the differences between their environment. The coffee bean is a liberica. Their food quality would speak of average and I admire the inspiration of the owner of this restaurant because he loves to preserve the products of San Pablo City.  To add up, the owner is very humble and the workers are very friendly. This restaurant is beside a car wash and a spa. You can choose to leave your car for a wash while taking up steak or even get a good massage before some sweet meal and a drink. I highly recommend Mi Cafe Padres and it is a 4.0/5.0 over-all.

4. Sulyap Gallery Cafe and Restaurant

Source: http://www.sulyap.net/roomrates.php

Sulyap Gallery Cafe and Restaurant has the best environment and the most classic of all the restaurants in San Pablo City. Although, the prices on the menu at first glance may not be pocket-friendly. If you have foreign visitors who went to stay temporarily in San Pablo City, this is the perfect place to bring them. The theme of this restaurant is traditionally Spanish and is mostly serving Filipino and Spanish cuisines. Let it be formal dining with San Miguel Beer and still would not give a reason for the drinking buddies to make the dining informal. This place is highly recommendable for formal dinners and business meetings. Customer service is great and food quality is excellent! Sulyap is a 4.5/5.0 for me. Go be a Cristostomo or a Maria and visit Sulyap Gallery Cafe!

5. Palmeras Garden Restaurant

Palmeras Garden Restaurant is a good place to stay in San Pablo City. The environment is very excellent, although mosquitoes might make you smash the plate to the ground! The food quality is not that reasonable for its price and they mostly serve Filipino Cuisines. One thing this place has other restaurants do not is the entertainment for weekend nights. There are times when bands perform on stage while you get a sweet dinner with your partner. The service is averagely friendly. In conclusion, Palmeras is a 3.5/5.0 for me.

6. Casa San Pablo

Casa San Pablo's menu speaks expensive, but the price may be reasonable for the quality of the food, service, and environment it gives to the customer. It serves American and Filipino dishes. This place is not typically visited by San Pableños daily or weekly, but is a perfect place for team building activities and wedding receptions. It has a wide area of grassland and a very provincial ambiance that warms the mind and the heart. Sitting here along dusk might even give you the deepest philosophies in life. I even remember the first time I've been here, and it was when we had our team building activity. That evening really made me feel like I am outside the modern world, a world of peace and tranquility. Casa San Pablo is a highly recommended place and is a 4.7/5.0 for me

7. Suki Alfresco Bar

Suki Alfresco Bar is one of the magbabarkada's favorites! No, it is not the typical Filipino bar with the disco lights and the karaoke or even the strippers ramping off the stage. It is a Japanese-themed bar with some good music for the nightlife. If you seem to think about a barkada night-out or a small class reunion, here is the perfect place for you! You can order Japanese and Filipino meals together with your beers and cheers. The food quality is good, but the service is quite below the average. The environment is fair and for those who prefer a silent night, this may not be the perfect place for you. I call this bar a 3.0/5.0. It's not really that bad, I'm just not the noisy and the bar-type of guy. I would recommend you to go there if you are one.

8. Simple Treats Cafe

Source: http://www.foodspotting.com/places/401781-simple-treats-cafe-san-pablo-city

Simple Treats Cafe is a fine-dining restaurant and is perfect for all parts of the day - serving international dishes from breakfast to lunch to dinner. It has a pleasant service and the food quality is great. It is one of the most underrated cafes in San Pablo City. It has a formal and chilly environment. There can also be acoustic performers on stage from time-to-time in weekend evenings. Like the others, this place is also one of the best choices for business meetings and romantic dates. Not to forget, a bourgeois family dinner too! Try some steak with a good glass of red wine. I give Simple Treats a 4.0/5.0

9. Cusina de Sabang 602

Source: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/86291378

Cusina de Sabang 602 is located alongside the Bunot Lake, which is one of the seven lakes that surround San Pablo City. I call it The Natural Restaurant of the city. They serve fried/grilled Tilapia fishes fresh from the lake and do cook it in the finest way. It has a very wonderful ambiance, although I would not recommend you to visit it by noon and afternoon. It is such an open area and the sun might cook you faster than the tilapia. Not unless you love the heat of the sun, then why not eat under exposure? In addition, there barely are annoying flies in the evening, but they are completely unavoidable by noontime. The serving time is quite slow and the over-all quality of the restaurant is a 4.2/5.0 for me. Despite all the flies (which are none of their mistakes) I have a high respect over their preservation and supply of San Pablo's abundance of the tilapia.

10. Isdaan Floating Restaurant

Source: http://windowseat.ph/pit-stops-stopover-south-quezon-bicol/

Unfortunately, Isdaan Floating Restaurant is not within San Pablo, but in Calauan, which is few minutes away from San Pablo. They have the largest menu in the city and is highly recommendable to visit in all parts of the day. Let it be breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything will just be fine. The traditional Tiki and Buddhist concept of the restaurant makes it more interesting to visit. It is a perfect place to eat for your relatives or family gathering. It is also one of the most recommendable places to bring your foreign visitors and your elderly, and make them realize that It's More Fun In The Philippines! Their food, service, and environmental qualities are magnificent! This place is a 5.0/5.0 for me. On my birthdays, I couldn't see any more place to bring myself in San Pablo except this. Go try and check it out! I deeply promise you that you will never regret it.

Address: National Highway, Bay, Laguna

Those are not the only quality restaurants within San Pablo City. You can visit the city yourself and search for more corners I haven't tried to explore. If you have some recommendations over this, you can comment down below.
