"MANILA- Three more civilians have been killed in Marawi City, local authorities said, as clashes between government troops and Maute terrorists continued Friday.
This raised the death toll to 5 after 2 civilians—drivers of ambulances, were confirmed killed on Thursday.
More people have also been reported wounded as heavy bombardment continues in the city. An injured civilian, Jalil Hasan, told ABS-CBN News that around 40 of them were trying to escape the gunfight when they were hit by a bomb from the military air strike." -ABS-CBN News
“This is is a time for victory. We will not lose it. How can we lose it ? We have everything. Wala kayong problema. I will take care of you,” Duterte told soldiers the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade in Iligan City.
The President even quipped that he would have joined the troops if he could.
“Fight for the country. Ako, kung maari lang kung pwede lang rin ako makisali sa ano, sasali ako,” he said.
“I’m a leader, I'm supposed to show the way. Pero kung saan ninyo ako gusto, ipatawag ninyo, tawagin mo ‘yan si Mayor, papuntahin mo dito. Pupunta ako.” -ABS-CBN News
However, the soldiers will continue to fight these terrorists. These terrorists plotting to make the whole Mindanao an Islamic province and the government is hoping to put a stop to this.
